Workflows > Requisitioning Requisitioning allows a user to build a request list of materials. The requested materials are dispensed and delivered by a user with dispensing permissions. To create requisitions, the user must have the Requisitioning in Basic permission, as well as requisition access to the inventory group for which the requisition is created. The purpose of requisitioning is to allow the user to request materials from a central dispensing group. The user selects materials by providing a material name or catalog number, and the system selects a FIFO lot that meets the user's requested amount. A work unit can be configured to grant permission to requisitioners within the work unit to over-requisition (that is, to requisition more inventory than is currently available). If this permission is not explicitly given in the work unit's configuration, users cannot requisition quantities greater than what is currently available. A user can only requisition from one Inventory Group at a time. The set of locations available for delivery of the materials is limited by the inventory group. Available inventory analysis and FIFO/manual lot selection is based on the current inventory in the selected Inventory Group. Note: The selection of which lot is used to fulfill the items on a requisition is determined when the dispensing process is initiated, not when the requisition is created. Requisitioning and Receiving When the Requisitioning Module is enabled, the receiving process only allows users to select locations within their own sites. If the requisitioning module is not enabled, receiving locations are not restricted to users' own sites, but by inventory group access. Create a Requisition
If you don't know the material name or catalog number, click the Find button to search for it.
Request By Batch and Batch Quantity If the Request By Batch option is checked, line item quantities are entered as percentages of the batch quantity (except in cases of Each like equipment and supplies). If the option is unchecked, line items are specified as absolute quantities. Trace to Batch # is not required (or visible) by default. To make Trace to Batch # required, set the require_batch_no configuration variable to 1 (effective a next login).
