Materials without CAS Numbers

Configuration > Regulatory Lists > Materials without CAS Numbers

Users who want regulatory lists to include materials that do not have CAS numbers can do so by turning on the pseudocas configuration variable. When the pseudocas variable is on, a CISID button is displayed on the Identity tab of every chemical whose Primary CAS field is blank.

Enable the Pseudo CAS Feature

1.Go to System Configuration and click the Configuration Variables link
2.Select the pseudocas variable
3.Set its value to 1 and save the change
4.Log out and log in again

Assigning CISIDs as Pseudo CAS Numbers

1.View the Identity tab of a chemical that has no CAS number
2.Click the CISID button

Now the material has a CAS that consists of the prefix "CIS" and the materialid, like "CIS10129."
