A constituent material can have multiple CAS numbers assigned to it. Each assigned CAS number can be associated with one EINECS number that is assigned to the same material. For each CAS number that is associated with an EINECS number, a description of the relationship is required.
| 1. | On a constituent's Identity tab, click the More link under the Primary CAS# heading |
| 2. | On the CAS management page, select CAS > New CAS from the main menu |
| 3. | Type a new CAS number in the CAS text box |
| 4. | If the new CAS is meant to be the primary CAS number, select the Set as Primary CAS# check box |
Note: There is always one primary CAS number on a material. When there is only one CAS number, it is automatically set as the primary CAS number.
