The Biological material type is intended for materials that are of biological origin, such as animals, plants, viruses, etc. In CISPro Global, supported information for biological materials differs from that available for chemicals and other types.
Materials of the Biological type have an Identity tab that includes the following settings: Reference Number, Type (Bacterium, Plasmid, Virus, etc.), Species/Origin, Variety, Genes of Interest, Transgenic, and Research Notes.

Other Tabs for the Biological Material Type
In addition to the Identity tab, other tabs for the Biological material type are Hazards, Picture, Docs, Properties, and Containers. The Hazards tab features such biological-specific settings as a Biosafety Level drop-down list and a Vectors text box, which can be used to list disease-carrying organisms, viral vectors, vector DNA, etc.
