Configuration > Business Units Business Units are defined globally, and are used as part of a site structure in order to distinguish between different business operations. Business Units are one of the first configuration items which a new installation should address, because Users can not be created without being assigned to a Work Unit, which is a combination of a Business Unit and a Site. Example Sites: Fairfield, Davis Business Units: Foods, Cleaners Work Units could be any of: (Fairfield+Foods), (Fairfield+Cleaners), (Davis+Foods), (Davis+Cleaners) Configure Business Units Log in as a global admin (a user with a role which has All System Config Permission) Click the System Configuration link Click the Business Units link Creating a new Business Unit
Note that the Business Unit ID field reports (new), meaning that a new record is being created.
Editing an existing Business Unit
Deleting a Business Unit Note that if the Business Unit is currently assigned to a Work Unit, it can not be deleted.
