Reference > Inter-Site Transfers > Perform an Inter-Site Transfer
Inter-site transfers can be performed by users with the Inter-Site Transfer permission (see Container Transfer Basic in Roles: Permissions). A container cannot be transferred if its barcode is the same as that of a container at the target site (as may happen when barcode uniqueness is only enforced at the site level).
| 1. | On the Container Information page of the container to be transferred, click the Inter-Site Transfer link |
| 2. | Select a site from the Destination Site list |
| 3. | Select a location from the Transfer Locations for Site list |
| 4. | Select a user from the Employees for Site list |
Configuration Setting The Employee list displays only if the siteTransferOwner configuration variable is set to 1.
After it is has been transferred, a container is longer visible from the current logged in user's site.
