Reference > Container Groups

A Container Group is a collection of one or more containers, all of which are assigned a group code, and some of whose attributes can be modified as a group. Containers in a group can be moved, disposed, or assigned a new owner.

Container group management is performed on the Container Groups page, which is accessible via a link on the system configuration page, the home page, and the container edit page of any container that belongs to a group.

On the Container Groups page, users can create new groups, find existing groups, edit existing groups, and print group labels. The container group edit options are Move Group Containers, Change Group Owner, Dispose Group Containers, and Remove Selected Containers from Group. Some edit actions affect the entire set of containers and some affect only those selected by the user. The Move Group Containers, Change Group Owner, and Dispose Group Containers actions can only be performed by a user who is at the same site as all of the group containers. The Remove Selected Containers from Group action can be performed on any container to whose inventory group the user has modify access.
