Install ActiveSync

Setting up your handheld device to share data with your desktop requires Microsoft ActiveSync. Specifically, there are two requirements:

ActiveSync must be installed on your desktop computer

An ActiveSync partnership must exist between your handheld device and your desktop

ActiveSync Installation

ActiveSync can be downloaded from Microsoft's website via the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx

1.Download and install Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 on your desktop computer

If ActiveSync is already installed on your desktop computer, skip this step.

2.On the ActiveSync window, click File > Connection Settings
3.Select the following check boxes, and clear any others

Show status icon in taskbar

Allow USB connections

Open ActiveSync when my device connects

4.Click OK

 

Once ActiveSync is installed and configured on your desktop, you need to create a partnership between your handheld device and your desktop computer.
