For the handheld device to communicate with the desktop computer, a partnership must be created in ActiveSync.

Create a Partnership

1.	Connect your handheld device to your desktop using your USB cable

Symbol MC9090 Users, dock your handheld and ensure that the power cable is plugged in and connected to the docking station

2.	Turn on your handheld device to activate ActiveSync (If ActiveSync displays a notice indicating that only non-Outlook items will be synchronized, click OK)

When ActiveSync is activated, the Synchronization Setup Wizard will prompt you to create a partnership between your desktop computer and your Pocket PC device

3.	Select Yes on the Set Up a Partnership screen

4.	Click Next

Depending on your handheld device's previous connection history, the Select Number of Partnerships screen may ask whether you want your handheld device to synchronize with only this computer. Select Yes or No, according to your preference.

If you already have two partnerships on your handheld computer, you will need to delete one of them before continuing. Delete one of the existing partnerships and click Next.

5.	If prompted for it, type the name by which ActiveSync should refer to your desktop computer

6.	On the Select Synchronization Settings screen, select the Files check box and clear all other check boxes

Click OK on the File Synchronization message (which informs you that a synchronized files folder will be created on your desktop computer)

7.	Click Next

8.	Click Finish to complete setup and begin the Sync process

Upon completion of the Pocket PC Sync setup process, ActiveSync initiates the synchronization process. When Sync process is complete, install the CISProMobile application for Windows Mobile or Windows CE, according to your needs.
