Working with Tracked Containers

Workflows > Track Count Module > Working with Tracked Containers

Containers whose size record is associated with a tracked unit of measure have an On-Hand Count field in addition to the standard container Quantity field. On these containers, which are actually material batch records, the Quantity represents the combined weight of all containers in the batch. The On-Hand Count is the number of containers in the batch.

For example, consider a container whose package size is 100 KG, tracked as Box-50. If its Quantity is 90 and its On-Hand Count is 10, that means there are 10 containers in the material batch (the batch is the container in this case) and their combined weight is 90 KG.

The On-Hand Count is displayed on the Material Containers tab. It's also displayed (and can be edited) on the Container Information page.

Receiving Tracked Containers

Container of tracked sizes are received the same way as other containers but, instead of number of containers and net amount per container, the receipt has a number of containers and Combined Amount all Containers. The number of containers becomes the On-Hand Count and the Combined Amount all Containers becomes the container quantity.
